Off his album titled “Made In Lagos” wizkid team up with music star Burnaboy to release a hit jam title “Ginger”.
Ginger is a song which has been said by many to be the best hit song in his album and the year 2020,as he feature the African giant in the song.
The album ” MIL” which had 14 tracks,features both indigenous and international artist.
Ginger is the second track on the 14 tracks album.
Ginger has achieved a major milestone by being the biggest collaboration from the Nigerian music industry duo’s,as both are well known and well recognized over the World as one of the best hit makers not only in Nigeria but Africa as a whole.
Within a week of the albums release,it broke many African streaming records,made in Lagos however became first African album to debuts on the Spotify global album chart,and among top ten songs.
The album surpasses 100 million mark of
streams across five platforms, nine days after release, a
huge milestone for an artist,it debuted at number 15 on UK charts ,Albums Chart with over 4,100.
The 14 tracks equivalent units . The song was 80 on US billboard 200 .
With over 10,000 album-equivalent units .
Ginger became
the only charting single off the album in the first week of
release, peaking at number 67 on the UK singles chart.
This chart entry made the singer the first Nigerian artist to ever achieve that feat of two UK singles entries from two albums.
Ginger went ahead to top the new music chart “Turntable” however becoming the first song to do so, the first in Nigeria,a feat that will take long before it can be marched.
Nigeria music Entertainment industry has over the years records a good number of recognition at World stage,with the likes of Wizkid, Burnaboy and Davido leading the trends of entertainers whose rise in profile has lead to most of the attentions from the international community.
