When the question of who is the future of the Nigerian music industry, who comes to your mind first?
Nigeria is blessed with a lot of talents,who are currently making themselves and the country proud. Afrobeats is a music genre that originated from West Africa, precisely Nigeria and Ghana,but history has it that the pioneer and godfather of Afrobeats is Nigerian owned Music legend Fela Anikulapo Kuti,who made his mark in the 70’s to early 90’s,opening up the space for others to partake in.Ever since,a lot has happened, and also a lot has changed, as the brand has experience a lot of reconstruction and evolution.
Nigeria has over time produced generational talents, like for example, in the 70’s we had Fela Anikulapo Kuti,80’s King Sunny Ade,Victor Nwifo and their Ebenezer Obey,in the 90’s,the genre went through rapid changes, as more artists began to flock in, and proffered many proactive recycling of the genre. That is when the likes of Danfo Drivers, Eedris Abdukareeem,Plantasun Boyz,Psquare,Ice Prince, Flavour,Dagrin,Charlyboy,and lot others came in.
From 2010 till date,Nigeria witness massive growth in the industry, as lot and lots of youths, found it worthy a career to partake in,as the likes of Wizkid,Davido,olamide,Tiwa Savage,DePrince,and many others came in,at that point, there was nothing that was going to stop the industry from that upward increase in terms of output.
Today,the industry is reaping the full potential of its labor, as a result of persistent hard work put in by the key players of the industry.

But particular our comparison and selection of Fireboy and Bella Shmurda is based on different aspects of profile and reputation.
BELLA SHMURDA
Bella Shmurda is a breakout star of 2020,after he released his hit song which led him into stardom “Vision 2020”. The song served as his starting point, as it helped open doors for him,as the song received wide acceptance from fans and music enthusiasts. After he dropped that song, he was invited over by the CEO of YBNL records Olamide Aka Baddo,after which the remix was released, and he was later signed into the label.
He later released his EP tagged ” High Tension ” in 2020,in which another charts smashing hit was part of,the song “Cash App”. The song became like an anthem in the lips of many,hence it garnered a large number of streams and download with millions of television and radio air plays.

The singer was snapped over by YBNL CEO Olamide after seeing the potentials he possess. He has a reputation of always releasing top quality songs,as hardly can you point out a single boring song from him either when he is featured or on his own songs.
The singer has over a short while grown to becoming a major force to be reckoned with as far as the Nigerian entertainment industry is concern.He dropped his first studio album in 2019 tagged ” Tears Laughter and goosebumps “,and album that broke and shattered many streaming records. In 2020,he released his second studio album named ” Apollo”,an album that earned him four awards at the just concluded Headies Awards which was held on Sunday February 21,2021 at the famous Eko Hotel and Suites.
