the Oloye Michael Agbolade Adenuga Sr, who was a
school teacher while his mother, Omoba Juliana
Oyindamola Adenuga (née Onashile, of Okesopin, Ijebu
Igbo), was a businesswoman of royal Ijebu descent. He
was born on the 29th of April, 1953, which makes
Nigeria’s second richest man just 68 years old.
Mike Adenuga made his fortune in the oil business and
telecommunications. His company, Globacom is a
major competitor to MTN and has over 52 million
subscribers. Globacom also has a presence in Benin,
Ivory Coast and Ghana. He owns stakes in the
Equitorial Trust Bank and the oil exploration firm
